Product update · January 2025
Stock values you can trust at month-end
January was a quiet month focused on accuracy. Our inventory management and accounting teams tightened how FlairSuite values stock and carries profit forward, so your stock reports and financial statements agree.
Highlights
The big changes in January 2025
Automatic cost adjustments
When goods arrive while stock is below zero, FlairSuite now posts the cost difference automatically, keeping inventory and cost of sales correct.
Adjustments in the Inventory Bin Report
The stock movement report now shows adjustments separately, so the closing value is easy to reconcile.
Inventory & Assets: stock valuation that matches the ledger
Businesses that sell before stock is received, a common situation in retail and distribution, get more reliable average costs and reports.
Automatic cost adjustment for negative stock
If you receive goods while a product's quantity is below zero, FlairSuite recalculates the average cost and posts the difference between inventory and cost of goods sold automatically, labelled as an inventory auto adjustment for that product. Sales invoices after that date are refreshed so their cost is correct. Margins no longer drift because items were sold before they were received.
Adjustments column in the Inventory Bin Report
The Inventory Bin Report, which shows opening quantity and value, received, issued, balance and closing average cost per product, now has a separate Adjustments column. Closing value is calculated as closing quantity times closing average cost, so it ties back to your stock valuation.
Correct opening quantity on product transaction reports
When you filter a product's transactions by date, the opening quantity now reflects all movements before the start date, and movements after the end date are left out cleanly. Stock checks and audits start from the right number.
Issue notes post on approval
Ledger entries for issue notes are created when the note is approved, and available quantities are updated straight after approval, so stock on hand and accounts move together.
Finance & Accounting: cleaner year-end figures
Small corrections that matter when you close the year.
Year-end profit includes the last day in full
When FlairSuite carries forward previous years' profit, transactions posted at the very end of 31 December are now included. Opening retained earnings match the closing profit of the year before.
Date check on payment cancellations
Cancelling a customer payment with a manual journal now applies the same cancellation date checks as other documents, so the reversal cannot land in the wrong period.
