Getting started series
Making your first sale
Go from an empty company to a paid customer invoice: set up categories, VAT, a product, a supplier and stock, then invoice the customer, approve the invoice and record the payment. Watch in order, because each video uses what the one before it created. 8 videos, 15 minutes.

Part 1 of 8Create your product categories
Every product belongs to a category, and the category decides which accounts its stock and its cost of sales are posted to, so create one first.
1:22
Part 2 of 8Set up VAT for your sales
Products take their VAT from a tax type, and a new company has none yet, so add your VAT before creating products.
1:58
Part 3 of 8Add your first product
An invoice line is always a product, so the thing you sell must exist before you can invoice it.
1:59
Part 4 of 8Add the supplier you buy from
Stock you receive must say which supplier it came from, and a new company has no suppliers yet.
2:09
Part 5 of 8Receive your first stock
You can only sell a stocked product you actually have, so receive stock before you invoice.
1:37
Part 6 of 8Set up your payment terms
Payment terms set each invoice's due date, and a new company has none, so add the ones you offer your customers.
2:14
Part 7 of 8Invoice your customer and get it approved
With a product in stock and payment terms ready, you can now bill a customer and make the invoice official through approval.
2:00
Part 8 of 8Record the customer's payment
The sale is only finished when the money is in, and recording it marks the invoice as paid.
