  1. This follows Add a chatbot to your website. When the chatbot cannot help, it hands the chat to one of its agents, so add yourself before any customer writes, then try the chatbot out.

  2. In the Communications settings, open Chatbots, find your website chatbot by its name, and click it to open its page.

  3. Open the Agents tab, choose yourself from the list of users and click Add. You start as Available, which means the chatbot may pass chats to you.

  4. Keep Whoever holds the fewest chats: with more agents later, each new chat goes to the least busy one. The agent is told in the Inbox and with a pop-up, and also by e-mail for when they are away; that e-mail goes out through the e-mail profile you set up earlier.

  5. Now open the Test tab and chat as a website visitor. Ask What are your opening hours? and read the reply: it comes from the instructions you gave the chatbot.

  6. Nothing in a test is sent to anyone, and it works even while the chatbot is switched off, so you can try it safely. Click Start again to clear the chat.

  7. Your chatbot now knows who takes over, and you have seen how it answers. Visitors can only reach it once its chat window is on your site. The next video is: Put the chat window on your website.
