Running your first payroll
Set up the allowances and deductions your salaries are made of, put them on your employees' salaries, then run, approve and review your first monthly payroll. Watch "Hiring your first employee" first: payroll only lists employees whose salary has been approved, and each video here builds on the one before. 5 videos, 9 minutes.

Part 2 of 5Add the allowance to your employee's salary
A component only reaches the payroll once it is on an employee's approved salary.

Part 3 of 5Choose when your payroll month closes
The attendance closing day decides which days' absences and lateness count in each month's salary, so set it before the first run.
2:03
Part 4 of 5Run and approve the month's payroll
With the salaries approved and the month's rules set, you can now calculate everyone's pay and approve it.

Part 5 of 5Review the salaries and print payslips
Once approved, the payroll is the record of what each employee is paid this month, so check it and hand out the payslips.
