  1. Welcome to FlairSuite. When you sell an asset or stop using it, record its disposal, so it stops losing value every month and leaves your books.

  2. Open Inventory, Assets, Assets List. Find the asset by its asset ID, and click it to open its page.

  3. Click Disposal. A short form opens for this asset.

  4. Pick today as the disposal date; it can't be before the purchase date. A sale has a price and the bank the money went into, but this broken laptop is a write off, worth zero. Then choose the account for the loss, and write down why.

  5. Click Save to send the disposal to approval. If your company has an approval workflow, choose it here and the disposal waits for a manager; without one, you approve it yourself. Once approved, the asset stops depreciating and the sale or loss is recorded in your books.

  6. Every disposal is listed under Inventory, Assets, Assets Disposal List. Here is ours, with its reason, a price of zero, and its approval status.

  7. That's it. We recorded a write off for a broken laptop and sent it to approval. Once it is approved, the asset leaves your books. Thank you for watching.
