When customers pay you by cheque or transfer, the money is not in your bank account until you deposit it. In this short video, we will put a customer's cheque into a bank voucher, so your bank balance in FlairSuite matches your bank statement.
First, sign in with your username and password.
Go to Accounts, Bank Vouchers, and open Create New Voucher. On the left are your payment methods. Pick the one your customer paid with, here a post-dated cheque, to see every payment of that kind that has not been deposited yet.
Tick the payments you are taking to the bank. You can tick several at once, and the total at the top adds them up for you. Then click Next.
Choose the bank account the money is going into. The deposit date is today by default, so change it only if you deposited on another day. Click Next.
If the bank took a fee, you can enter the commission and its VAT here. We have none, so we go on to the summary, check the net amount, and click Create Voucher. The voucher lists the payments it includes, and the accounting entries that move the money into the bank are posted for you.
Every deposit you make is kept in the Bank Vouchers list, under the same menu. Search it by voucher number, bank, receipt number, or customer, to find a deposit again later.
That's it. We chose the payments, picked the bank account, and created a bank voucher, so the money now shows in the bank. Thank you for watching.
