Welcome to FlairSuite. When you send goods back to a supplier, or they charged you too much, a supplier credit note reduces what you owe them. In this short video, we will create one from a purchase invoice, and find it again in the list.
First, sign in with your username and password, then click Login.
Supplier credit notes are under Vendors, Credit Notes. The list shows each credit note with its supplier, total, and approval status. To make a new one, click Create Creditnote.
Start typing the supplier's name in the search box on the left. When you click a supplier, their purchase invoices appear on the right.
Select the invoice you want credit for. Its balance is shown at the bottom. Then click Create Credit Note.
A draft credit note opens, linked to the original invoice, with all its lines already copied in. Remove or reduce the lines you are not returning, choose the debit account, usually your accounts payable, and click Save. When it is ready, Send to Approval passes it to a manager.
Back in the Credit Notes list, type the reference in the filter and click Apply Filters. Here is our new credit note. It stays a draft, and not approved, until a manager approves it.
That's it. We found a supplier, picked one of their invoices, turned it into a credit note, saved it, and found it in the list. Thank you for watching.
