  1. Before you pay suppliers by cheque, set up how your cheques print. In this video, we create a cheque design for a bank account, and look at the crossings.

  2. Sign in, then open System, Apps Settings, Cheque Settings. It opens on Cheque Designs. Keep one design for each bank or cheque book: a cheque prints with the design linked to its bank account, or with the default design otherwise.

  3. Click New Design and give it a name, then choose the bank account it is for. Leave the default crossing and the Current print style, and start from the default design, so the layout is already filled in. Then click Create.

  4. The layout editor opens. Tick the fields you want on the cheque, such as the payee's name, the amount, the amount in words and the date, and drag them into place on your cheque. Then click Save.

  5. Back in All designs, the new card shows its bank and its crossing. Its menu lets you make it the default design, duplicate it for another cheque book, or delete it.

  6. On the Crossings tab, Cross only prints the two lines, and Cross with text also prints your own words between them. Add your own with Add Crossing. Each design starts with its default crossing, and you can still change it in the Print Cheque window.

  7. We created a cheque design for a bank account, saved its layout, and looked at the crossings. You're ready to pay suppliers by cheque. Thank you for watching.
