Before your team starts taking orders, you can decide what a sales order asks for. In this short video, we will change the order settings and see the result on a new order.
Order settings are under System, Apps Settings, Orders. The first switches add the customer's company and address to every order, and a delivery contact for the person who receives the goods. Another switch sets all the dates on an order to today.
Let's turn on the delivery contact. Then give the extra field a name, such as PO Number, to record the customer's purchase order on each order; the switch below makes it mandatory. Finally, choose whether line discounts are a percentage or an amount.
Click Save. A message confirms that the order settings were updated, and every new order now follows them.
To check, open the Orders list and click Create Order. The new order now has a PO Number field and a Delivery Contact. We only wanted to look, so we leave it without saving.
Back in Orders Settings, we switch the delivery contact off, clear the extra field and save again, to put things back as they were.
That's it. You chose which fields an order shows, added your own field, and saw it on a new order. Thank you for watching.
