  1. Some customers need a phone call, not another email. A task trigger hands a collector a call-the-customer task for everyone who matches, so nobody slips through. Let's create one for customers who are a month or more overdue.

  2. First, sign in with your username and password.

  3. Open Collection setup, and choose Task triggers under Tasks in the panel on the left. The list shows each trigger's collectors, the task title, its priority, its escalation policy, and whether it is switched on.

  4. Click New task trigger. It saves a draft that stays switched off, and opens the editor. Give it a name, then add one condition to the ALL group, just like a reminder trigger: the oldest invoice is thirty days overdue or more. The line below shows how many customers match right now.

  5. Under Task details, write the task title and the instructions your collector will read. Then pick an escalation policy: it sets the task's due date, and who it goes up to if the deadline is missed.

  6. Under Assignment, pick the collector who gets the tasks. If you pick several, each new task goes to whoever has the fewest open tasks. Collectors and escalation policies are set up under Team and Tasks in the same panel.

  7. Runtime settings work like a reminder trigger's: the cooldown and the priority. Click Save changes; the trigger stays inactive. Save and Activate creates real tasks for every matching customer, so only use it when you are ready.

  8. To see where the tasks land, open Tasks under Customers, Collection. My tasks is each collector's daily queue, with a switch between your own tasks and your team's, and All tasks lets a manager check every task, its assignee, due date, trigger and status, filtered by customer or status; click a row to work the task. They are empty here because our trigger is still off; tasks appear once a trigger is active.

  9. That's it: your trigger is ready to switch on whenever you are. Thank you for watching.
