Sometimes a customer you found in See what a customer owes can't pay everything at once. In this short video, we agree a plan so they can pay their unpaid invoices in instalments.
Sign in, and open Customers, Collection, which lands on the Installment Plans list. Each plan shows its number, the customer, its status, the first due date and the total. Click Add plan to start a new one.
Choose the customer, then click Pick Invoices and tick the unpaid invoices this plan covers. Below them, Receipts on Covered Invoices fills in by itself as the customer pays.
Now set how many instalments, here three, and the date of the first one. The Schedule Preview shows each payment's date and amount, so you can agree it with the customer before you save.
A plan only counts once it is approved. Click Submit for Approval, and the approver sees this window, where they can add a comment.
The approver clicks Approve, and the plan becomes active. If the arrangement ever falls through, Cancel Plan ends it but leaves the customer's payments untouched. We won't click it here.
That's it. You chose the customer and their invoices, set the instalments, checked the schedule, and approved the plan. Thank you for watching.
