  1. This follows Create a user group. A new group can do nothing yet, so before you put anyone in it, decide what its members may do.

  2. Sign in, then open System, Security Settings, Groups. Here is the list of your company's groups. Type your group's name in the Name filter and apply it to find it quickly.

  3. Open the group you created. Group Permissions says No permissions configured, so its members could not open anything yet. Record Permissions, further down, can later limit the group to certain records.

  4. Click Modify on Group Permissions. The left side lists every part of the app. A sales team works with invoices, so search for Invoices and select it.

  5. Now choose what the team may do with invoices. Let them view all invoices, create new ones, and edit the ones they made themselves. Leave Delete on None, so a mistake can never wipe out a sale.

  6. Click Save. The new permissions apply straight away to everyone in the group.

  7. Go back to the group. Group Permissions now lists Invoices, with three of its sixteen permissions switched on. Repeat this for any other part of the app the team needs.

  8. Your group now has permissions, so anyone you add to it can work with invoices but not delete them. The next video is Add a user and give them a login.
